WhatsApp’s latest version brings four-person group video calls for all users. Here’s how you can use this amazing feature on your iPhone.
WHATSAPP V2.18.80 INTRODUCES GROUP VIDEO CALLING
WhatsApp introduced the video calling feature back in 2016.
Now, after having launched it provisionally last May in beta versions, WhatsApp has released group video calls for all users in the latest stable build.
But here’s the catch – the number of participants in the group call cannot exceed four users.
If you are paranoid about security, WhatsApp group calls are encrypted from end-to-end, just like text messages.
As far as other alternatives go, Facebook Messenger lets you video call up to 50 people. Skype and Snapchat, on the other hand, support 25 and 16 participants in group calls respectively.
Even Apple’s very own FaceTime app allows up to 32 participants in a group video call.
HOW TO MAKE GROUP VIDEO CALLS IN WHATSAPP
Step 1 First and foremost, download and install the latest version (2.18.80) of WhatsApp on your iPhone.
Step 2 Launch WhatsApp and tap the voice or video call icon to initiate a call with one of your contacts. Wait until he/she answers your call.
Step 3 Tap the “plus” button present in the top-right corner to add other members to the video call.
Step 4 Select the desired contact from the Contacts list. Tap Add to confirm. Doing so will add that participant to the group call.
